"Cyber Crime; Battling the Phantom Foe."

Have you worried about Identity theft or how to deal with inappropriate e-mails and websites among employees?  MSSA is giving you an opportunity to create a “dragnet” or a system in how to understand the cyber threat and what you can do to prevent yourself from becoming the next on-line victim of the ever growing cyber crime problem. The seminar will be addressed from a strategic to tactical perspective.

Presenter:  FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Dale Miskell.

In May 1987, Dale Miskell entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) with the FBI.  Initially, SA Miskell's primary investigative assignments were in White Collar Crime (WCC).  Since 1998, he has been developing an expertise in a still relatively new investigative program for the FBI known as Cyber Crime.

In December 2002, SA Miskell was promoted to a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) position in the Cyber Crime Division, FBIHQ.  While at FBIHQ, SSA Miskell worked at the Internet Crime Complaint Center and was responsible for establishing and managing the FBI's national and international response to the very popular fraudulent on-line criminal activity commonly referred to as a "Reshipper Scam."  As a result of SSA Miskell's efforts in combating the "Reshipper Scam" in 2005, he was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year."            In January 2005, SSA Miskell was transferred to the Birmingham Division as the SSA in charge of the Cyber Crime squad.
